Pursue

Randy Huett   -

Psalm 23:6 (NASB95)   6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

The verb translated as “follow” is radaph in Hebrew, which means to “pursue.”God’s goodness and mercy are pursuing us. As Dr. Daniel Fuller says, “God’s goodness and mercy are pursuing us. Like a highway patrolman with his red lights flashing behind you to run you down and say to you,

1 Corinthians 3:21–23 (NASB95)   21 So then let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you, 23 and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.

We somehow feel that when God pursues us, He is pursuing us to tell us how bad we are and how messed up we are. But he is pursuing us with His goodness and His mercy to tell us that we are His in Christ and that we belong to Christ and to God, and tells us of our great riches in Christ. He is pursuing us to love us, to call us into His family and call us Sons and daughters. We are pursued to know him, to be apprehended by Him.

I remember with joy the day He caught me with His mercy, love and grace.

Best day ever!

I love you, Pastor Randy
