Be Generous
You have probably heard me say that we believe that the work of God is to be supported by the sacrificial giving of God’s people. Thank you, each one of you, for what you have invested in Life Community Church and into the work of Christ in the past year. God working through you enables us to do everything we do.
1 Timothy 6:17–18 (NASB95)
17 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. 18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,
We see that God supplies us what we have to enjoy. He blesses us, so that we can be a blessing. I don’t know how much you each give. But for nearly every one of us it is the will of God that we risk more than we do for the greatest cause in the world, the cause of Christ. Not to fix our hope in money, but to fix our hope in God . If you are not giving a tithe (a tenth) of your income as a family, that is a good place to start. It’s a lot, I know! It shows that you are learning to put your trust in Christ and have not fixed your hope in money. In the kingdom of God, once you determine what God’s will is, then we have to trust God with the how. God wants us to be a generous church, filled with generous people.
Thank you for your generosity and obedience.
I love you, Pastor Randy
