The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow…Probably

Randy Huett   -

James 4:13–15 (NASB95) Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” 14 Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”

James is saying to us, “How well have you been able to predict your future? ”We would probably answer, “not very well, but I keep trying!” What you might say is, “Well, I didn’t see that coming.” Pregnancy is often a surprise. Jobs gained and lost may also be surprising. Life comes at a fast pace and the changes and unexpected events come just as fast.

The future is not predictable for us but good news, it is in God’s hands. He is never surprised by a turn of events, He is never dismayed. There was an old song that said, “I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand.”

If you know that God has hold of your hand, you can trust him to lead you and be with you in some of life’s unpredictable days. He won’t let you go.

I love you, Pastor Randy
