Thankful
The pilgrims did not refer to one another as pilgrims, but saints. And such we are because of the finished work of Christ on the cross that has been gracefully applied to us. So my dear saints, think about this.
Colossians 3:15 (NASB95) Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
It is important and empowering to be thankful. Just as Paul directed us:
Philippians 4:4 (NASB95) Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
Both of these are not feelings, but chosen responses to the stuff of life. If we are thankful and if we are rejoicing, it is attitude that is transforming. But it has to be deliberate; it won’t just happen. Like most things. If you are just sitting around waiting for the Spirit to move you, He won’t. That is not how it works. It is Spirit empowered obedience. Get started obeying and the Spirit will start helping you.
Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, be thankful for what you do have.
Instead of grumbling and complaining, be purposeful in rejoicing in the blessing upon blessings that you do have.
Simple, but not easy.
I love you and pray for you to have a great day with family and friends.
