DAY 11.
DEPEND ON HIM FOR EVERYTHING
“…GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD…”
The Word of God is a crazy thing. The more you read it and look at it, the more you see. I think that it is interesting that Jesus prays: “give us this day our daily bread”. Just like He started His prayer with “our Father,” He is intentionally including us and His disciples in the focus of His prayer to the Father.
Last week we prayed this part of the prayer from the standpoint of “God and Me,” but today we are praying this over our families. In the same way Jesus includes “us” in His prayer, take some time to declare your dependance on the Lord and the needs of people in your family. God is THE good and perfect Father of you and of the individuals in your family. Jesus tells us again in Luke 11 what the father is like:
‘ “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”’
Luke 11:11-13 NIV
Jesus is saying that the Father is ready to open heaven for His children! He is ready to do that for you and for you family! So in your prayer time today, pray over the needs of His children: thats you and your loved ones.
To help aid you in praying for the needs of your family, here’s the same list of prayer focuses from last week. Ask God to bless these areas of their life:

This is a scripture that declares that God is our provider:
15 The eyes of all look expectantly to You,
And You give them their food in due season.
16 You open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.
17 The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works.
18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
PSALM 145:15–18 NKJV
PRAY THIS:
Our Father, I come to you and declare that you are the source and the provider for everyone of my needs and the needs of my family. There is no need or detail that escapes your notice. I pray that every need of the people you have placed in my family is satisfied. More than that, I ask that they would thrive in every area of their life. Through your favor and blessing I ask that they would become aware of your goodness, how much you care for them, and how you love being their Father. Amen.
