DAY 17.

Tim Sewalt   -

PRAY HIS AGENDA FIRST

“…YOUR KINGDOM COME. YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN…”

When we pray “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done..”, we are confirming our worship all over again. Yesterday we prayed “Holy is your name.” If His name is the Highest, so are His priorities. Since He is the LORD, we pray “have your way.” Sometimes I have to admit, I think I have a better way. Even Jesus had to submit to the Father’s will, so that we could be reconciled to Him:

‘“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” ‘
Luke 22:42 NIV

Pretty crazy right? So, its fair to say that Jesus has been there and has felt what we feel. When God’s will costs us, is uncomfortable to us and we can’t see, Jesus has been there. We are worshiping when we lock in and submit to what God is doing even when we cant make sense of it, and say “not my will, but yours.” We worship when we acknowledge God, and trust Him when He says:

‘“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord . “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. ‘
Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

His ways are higher than our ways. Ask God today what His will is for the many places that you call your world. What is God’s will for your workplace, school and community? This might mean you do something! This might mean getting out of your comfort zone and praying for someone at work. This might mean inviting that difficult person from your school to church. God’s will is always good, but it’s not always easy or comfortable. Jesus knows that firsthand and He’s offered us help:

‘Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.’
Hebrews 4:14-16 NIV

PRAY THIS:
Father, I love you and worship you. I proclaim Jesus as the King of my life. You are the King Jesus, so let your kingdom come and your will be done. Show me what you want to happen in the places that you have made my world. Show me what you care about. I love you. I want to love what you love. I want to be broken over the things that break your heart. Jesus give me your grace to step out and be a part of accomplishing your kingdom work. I’m weak, I’m scared but I believe you when you say that you’ll give me everything I need to live for you. Amen.

WORSHIP: (ALL HAIL KING JESUS)
