“For the Rest of Your Life”
Once a toddler has gone through a few falls, with bumps and bruises to prove it, they learn how to walk and “bet you me” they are walkers, if not runners, for the rest of their lives.
Once a child has a few wobbly accidents with a scraped knee or two, they learn how to ride a bike and they can ride a bike for the rest of their lives.
Once a child endures swim lessons, they become swimmers for the rest of their lives.
Want to become a doctor? You’ll have to endure all the years of schooling and residency and once you’ve done so and passed the exams, you’ll be a doctor for the rest of your life.
To endure pregnancy and deliver a baby, there’s a bit of pain involved, but……you get the picture!! Enduring intense seasons, those that teach you something, gives you new understanding, gives you insight and even gives you empathy for those going through the same.
Paul writes to Timothy to endure in sharing the good news.
2 Timothy 2:10 (NLT) So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.
Once you experience the joys of salvation, of serving the Lord, feeling His presence in your life, then you can be a witness for Christ for the rest of your life.
Paul mentions endurance again in the same letter to Timothy.
2 Timothy 4:5 (NIV) But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
Once you’ve endured some difficulties or hardships you find yourself with a platform that will allow you to help others going through similar circumstances then you can be an encourager for the rest of your life.
Let’s make the most of this earthly life; let’s endure what we must to make things better for all of us…….For the rest of our lives.
Love you,
Tina
