Project Life is the 5th Sunday of the month, which occurs four times each year. On that 5th Sunday, we will give away every single cent that comes into the offering to our quarterly Project Life recipient! This year we have chosen some really great ministries to receive this money.
This Sunday is the first of our 4 Project Life's this year. This Project Life we are giving away our offering to build a water well in Kenya. This water well will completely change this village! It will even have an area for them to give water to their animals, do laundry and shower.
These people are currently walking over ten miles each way to get water. I recently walked ten miles, which is roughly the distance around White Rock Lake. Tim and I set off to take Cricket on a "short" walk at the lake and Tim mentioned, "Let's walk the whole thing." So I agreed, but neither of us really thought about how long this would take. Over three hours later, sunburned and dragging our dog, we finally had gone completely around the lake, ten miles. At one point we were closer to our home than we were to our car on the other side of the lake. Honestly, we would have given up, but there was a lake between our car and us. I can't imagine having to do that to get water. Not only that, but after walking the ten miles, they than have to do it again, but this time carrying a heavy jug of water! So if you have an entire morning and want a challenge, go walk White Rock Lake (with a lot of water to drink and great shoes!)! I am so excited about this Sunday, I hope you will join us bless this village in Kenya.
