Power for your Purpose
If you weren’t there or don’t remember, this was my closing point last Sunday`.
This is our purpose, this is our calling, given to us (this church and all believers) by our Lord and Savior. It is to tell people the good news about Jesus and to mature believers to the place where they will tell people the good news about Jesus.
Jesus last words before he ascended to the father to his disciples.
Acts 1:8 (NASB95) “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
Jesus told them that the Father would send the Spirit to empower them for the purpose of witnessing to the world. We can’t do it without His power. He says, “you will receive power and… you shall be”. Kinda sounds like a done deal doesn’t it. If I get the power, I will do it. Jesus says, “You’re getting the power, get ready.” That power has a purpose and that purpose is to tell people the good news about Jesus and to mature believers to the place where they will tell people the good news about Jesus., a
God enables us to do what He calls us to do. God will empower you to tell the people in your life the good news of Jesus, even if you are afraid, even if you are not sure how to do it. If you will consistently say yes to the Holy Spirit as He leads you, you will find He is maturing you into His purpose for your life. Which is, if you haven’t picked up on it, is to tell people the good news of Jesus.
I love you, Pastor Randy
